Portland Street Vendors

Portland Street Vendors

one of the best thing about Portland is its Thai restaurants and st vendors, you really find a nice fresh vegetable layer almost in any dish here, very far from the greasy Thai which very often comes around, simple spicy and pure flavor. this time we stopped for lunch at one of Portland ‘Cart Malls’ – a parking lot in the middle of the city with a variety of street vendors. as I been told the custom here is to run a street cart as a test kitchen for an upcoming restaurant, with the idea that if it works in a cart it would work in a real kitchen.

You apparently only had bad thai food before, I’ve had nothing but thai food consisting of something like half-2/3 vegetables. To my knowledge sawatdee is only decent as far as thai goes, but I still need to try some to be sure. Then again, my first thai experience was at the “best in the midwest”thai resteraunt that’s won such awards since it opened, so maybe I just have high standards
